RACHEL AND STEPHEN'S WEDDING IN FAVERSHAM KENT

Photos from Rachel and Stephen's wedding on Saturday
Rachel was getting ready at her parents home and their was a relaxed atmosphere which makes it easy to get some informal photos as well as some portraits of everybody in the house. After spending an hour at the home I then set off to the impressive At Mary's Church in Faversham which was a five minute drive. The weather was ideal today as during the winter the light starts to fade around 3.30pm, luckily with the sun being out this would give us an extra hour of usable light for when the couple made their exit from the church at 4pm. Their was a selection of group photos of the wedding party to cover, had to use some fill in flash for these, with the camera in manual mode I could then use the aperture that I wanted to control the burst of light from the flash. Before we left I saw an opportunity for a portrait of the couple with the archway to the church in the background. Again a burst of fill in flash with a depth of filed of F4 was enough to light Rachel and Stephen and give a romantic feel to the background, the graduated sky worked beautifully with the angular lines of the archway.

The reception was to take place at the Alexandra Centre where 150 guests were to enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment courtesy of a live band. The remainder of the photos were mainly candid along with some family group photos. We had viewed the venue a few days before and with a spiral staircase leading to the first floor of the centre it seemed an ideal location to finish off the portraits of the couple. Once the first dance was complete it was time for me to leave, a great day and even more special to cover a friends wedding.
