The course went through all of the controls of the attendees digital SLR cameras, most had been using the auto controls so had not used any manual controls at all. Running through each control in detail and then covering a practical session afterwards highlighted the benefits of delving in to the aperture, shutter speed and ISO controls. We also looked at examples of my photography work that covered subjects that each attendee liked to photograph and ended up the day with model Emma Jo posing in various settings around the Innovation Centre, using light and backgrounds to make the most of composition and using various aperture settings on the cameras.
