02/10/2018
Richard James Anthony Noble, OBE is a Scottish entrepreneur who was holder of the land speed record between 1983 and 1997. He was also the project director of ThrustSSC, the vehicle which holds the current land speed record, set at Black Rock Desert, Nevada in 1997. Richard gave an insightful talk to the packed audience about his career and the future of engineering in the United Kingdom.

A full size replica of the Bloodhound SSC outside the Augustine House building, up close you can see how daunting it must be for the pilot to take this amazing piece of machinery up to the speeds possible that would leave a jet fighter in its wake. The lecture photography was to capture Richard Noble in conversation with the Vice Principal and part of his talk. The photos will be used for online and printed material locally and nationally.
