BROOKLANDS RELIVED 1940'S DAY

13/05/2018
During the day their are live music and dance lessons in the entertainment marquee, fly past by The Battle of Britain was honoured with the museums very own Hawker Hurricane set up on the finishing straight of the historic circuit, best dressed competition and dozens of groups of re-enactors. The music and dancing continues on until 10pm, making it a real experience for those attending.

The photography has always been documenting the day, their is always plenty of scope to create a documentary of the day and its nice to see regular people attending the event. I met up with some familiar faces earlier in the day to take a set of images of them at the event, this would give the museum a different spin for the photos, they use them to promote the event and also send out to local press and national lifestyle and vintage publications.

At lunchtime the Barbara Cartland room was set up as a studio, over the years this has worked really well as it gives the public a chance to pose in the authentic setting where the novelist and journalist was based. Everyone that attends the day puts a lot of effort in to the clothing and accessories so a portrait of them and friends is a nice memento from the day.
