SIDNEY COOPER GALLERY RED LIST EXHIBITION
28/10/2011

Art work on display in the Sidney Cooper Gallery in Canterbury, Kent
The Red List is an exhibition of extraordinary work by artists who explore issues such as invasion, extinction, threat and ownership in their practice. Employing a diverse range of media, process and materials which question our associations with them and the natural world, unusual and exciting dialogues are developed. Artists included in this exhibition include Neeta Madahar, Paul Hazelton, Stephen Melton, Ben Rowley and Richard Barnes. The highlight for me was New York photographer Richard Barnes' work of animals in a natural history useum, well worth taking a visit in the Sidney Cooper gallery for his amazing surreal photos, plus admission is free as well!
The majority of photographs were taken tripod bound with 4-5 second exposures and the 17-40mm lens attached, with a great depth of field to capture everything sharp and some over exposure by 2/3-1 stops to lift any lighting colour cast the images just needed a slight shift on the white balance in post production.
