31/08/2018
Salon Prive classic and super car weekend takes place at the historic Blenheim Palace this weekend,30th August to 1st September, Thursday was the Concours d'Elegance and with the show in its thirteenth year all of the rarest and most beautiful cars ever made were on display. The stunning backdrop enhanced the cars even more and made the car photography an absolute pleasure, with lobster and champagne flowing every one who attended had a great time, the weather was a cool but sunny Summer's day and with the bright blue skies made the cars and buildings really stand out. It was also the official European launch of the outrageous Lamborghini SVJ, a limited edition supercar which was a real highlight for the opening of the show, a limited produced supercar which will surely sell out very quickly.

The classic and sports car photography at Salon Prive is very much about the people as well, some celebrities were around, for me spotting and photographing Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi was a major highlight of the day. The coverage is always full of activities going on, from judging which has industry experts, these also included Le Mans legend Derek Bell and model Yasmin Le Bon who is a classic car enthusiast. After lunch the cars then get their awards for best in show, this is then followed with a parade lap around the grounds of the beautiful Blenheim Palace. Among some of the finest super cars on display were some of the most iconic classics ever produced, Ferrari GTO's Lamborghini Miuras, Ford GT40's and Aston Martins. The show takes place over 4 days, Friday sees ladies day, Saturday and Sunday then celebrate 70 years of Porsche and then culminates in super car Sunday.
