CLASSIC AND SPORTS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY

22/08/2018
Minnis Bay is situated on the East Coast of Kent and provides a perfect backdrop and parking for the Classic and Chips car meet. Their was such a wide range of cars and bikes on show, these ranged from Dodge Chargers to Lada Rivas, plus of course the classic Mini's and Volkswagens that are always in high attendance at car meets.

This is the first time I have attended the event, my good friend and fellow photographer Nick Simmonds covers the meets on a regular basis and it was good to catch up with him. Their is an art to capturing what is essentially loads of cars parked up on the street and in a large car park, I opted for the 70-200mm lens as I wanted to capture some candids of the drivers alongside some scenic images of the cars turning up, it was difficult to find a parking space so you had a few chances to capture cars as they were doing a loop of the seafront.

The evening Sun started to dip just after 8pm which made for some atmospheric images, this worked really well with the classics to make it look like a yesteryear scene. The next Classic and Chips meet up is next month on Tuesday 18th September, turn up early as its bound to be packed again!
