SHEPHERD NEAME HOP SYMPOSIUM 2013 PHOTOGRAPHY

03/10/2013
The day started with a blessing of the hops at the church of St Peter & St Paul in Ospringe, the service was taken by Reverend Tracey Bateson and had readings by Jonathan Neame along with hymns and prayers to celebrate the service. Afterwards it was on to Queen Anne Farm where their was an array of hop varieties for the guests to look at and hear about their history from Dr Peter Darby.

Lunchtime was a chance for the guests and staff of Shepherd Neame to sample a variety of beers and also to listen to some keynote speeches by Tony Redsell OBE, Ali Capper from the British Hop Industry and other professionals in this area of expertise. I was amazed by the number of Kent based brewers in the County, in excess of twenty all producing home grown beers.
