CAR PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE BROOKLANDS MUSEUM WEYBRIDGE

22/09/2013
The course today had five photographers taking part looking to hone their skills in terms of composition and lighting with eight stunning cars on display against the airfield and banking at Brooklands Museum. The cars included 356 Speedsters, Ferrari F430 Spider, 360 Modena Spider, 328 GTS, 308 GT4 and a 348TS plus the new Jaguar F Type, courtesy of Barretts Jaguar in Canterbury, I was very fortunate to have the car for the day, and being the 5.0 V8 as well was a huge bonus.

The cars were positioned around the airfield in the morning where Concorde was hovering over the F Type and F430 Spider, creating some stunning portfolio shots for the photographers. After lunch the cars were situated on the Brooklands banking with the addition of some end of day images taken around by the aircraft hangar and old garages. The course covers setting the cars against some great and diverse backdrops, composition, lighting and also using a variety of focal lengths to show the cars at their very best. The day ended with some off camera flash techniques, just using one Speed Lite off camera to show the dramatic effects that you can get with a small and portable piece of lighting.
