WILTON CLASSIC SUPERCAR PHOTOGRAPHY HR OWEN IN SALISBURY

04/08/2013
The brief was simple today for my client HR Owen, capture their cars on display, the setting and people enjoying the cars on display. Along with the supercar and luxury brand dealers Aventadors, 458's, GT Continentals their was one car that stole the limelight, the 599XX. Unveiled in 2009, the 599XX is based on the road-going F599 GTB. But, it went on a serious diet; Ferrari lightened the engine components, used more carbonfibre for the bodywork, and did away with the luxury interior. They also raised the rev limiter and tweaked the internals, so this £1,200,000 track-only special edition is Ferrari’s fastest EVER production-derived car. It went on to smash the fastest lap at the Nurburgring for its category, cementing this super-rare machine’s place in the history books. They made less than 30 of these stunning cars and to see one in the flesh was amazing, it certainly looked the part heading up the stunning HR Owen display of cars on show.

I set about early on capturing each of the cars on display, one 600 SPeed lite off camera provided some nice fill in flash and with the 17-40mm lens on the full frame 5D MK3 I was able to capture some scene setting shots. The day was overcast which made the flash even more important, providing some much needed light and saturating the prominent reds and yellows of the Ferrari's and Lamborghini's even more. At the end of the day as I left the venue I passed Stonehenge en route, all of a sudden a Jaguar XJ 220 overtook me, the end of a perfect day!
