JULIA & TOM'S WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN OXFORD

03/08/2013
Tom and Julia had 100 guests at the ceremony and the Oxford Town Halls architecture and history provided a great setting for their wedding. This is the first wedding photography in Oxford that I have covered, I done a recce yesterday evening so I knew the surrounding area, some side roads provided great locations for some small informal group photos and on the day the busy road with tourists provided a backdrop for some candids of the guests arriving. Once the ceremony was over a vintage double decker bus collected the guests for the short trip to Sandy Hill Farm, I followed Tom and Julia as they set off in the Morris for some photographs of them on their own, it also provided them with some time alone together whilst driving to the venue.

Once everybody arrived I set about getting some natural wedding photographs of the guests around the farm, a great location and a very chilled out affair that made it an absolute joy to cover. Apart from some wider photos at the Town Hall and the overall group shot at the farm where I used the 17-40mm all of the other wedding photographs in Oxford were taken with the 70-200mm 2.8 zoom lens, on a full frame camera this for me is the ultimate wedding lens, great for close ups and detail shots as well as the perfect lens for group photographs. As the day came to an end I finished up with some fun photos around the Morris Minor, although a few showers crept in during the afternoon the day was generally dry and the occasional cloud cover worked perfectly for the wedding photography in Oxford.
