UNIVERSITY OF KENT CORPORATE MEDIA PORTRAITS

15/07/2013
Today was the busiest of the three days portraits at Kent University with nine Doctors and professors to cover, these ranged from specialists in digital arts, criminal justice, forensic psychology and conservation. The images had to cover a nice range of head shots plus something a little off kilter, my favourite one was of David Byers-Brown who lectures at the school of engineering in digital arts, effect and cinema. He has worked in Hollywood and one of his collaborations was on Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The image I was looking for was to use a projected image on to David, a 3D mapping landscape of Canterbury worked the best and gave a different slant on some of the standard images of him in the studio and with lighting as props. Really enjoyed this project and using the 50mm lens, no gimmicks and the shallow depth of field has really worked well with a lot of the portraits creating an atmospheric aura to the backdrops.
