JAGUAR F TYPE SPORTS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY CANTERBURY KENT

19/04/2013
The F Type had been carefully kept under wraps by Jaguar and had only been released to the press on Wednesday so I was privileged to have been asked by my client Barretts Jaguar to photograph their two demonstrators on Thursday morning. Their are three models which start with the supercharged 3.0 litre V6 with 336bhp, the F Type S which develops 370 bhp and the top of the range V8S with Jaguars 5.0 litre 488bhp. The car in the flash is beautifully proportioned and is smaller then it's bigger brother the GT XK.

The original designs that had been on show years ago promised cutting edge design inside an outside of the car and I'm glad to say that the final version has remained true to those original sketches. Their are some nice touches which include the innovative door handles, a grab handle in the cockpit for the passenger to hold on to when the driver is throwing the cars around those long country bends. I haven't driven the cars yet but being a passenger in the standard model on 20" rims still provided a comfortable ride.

The photographs were being taken outside the impressive Marlowe Theatre which provided a modern backdrop for the stunning F Type, the two demonstrators looked striking in red and metallic grey. With the sun filtering through the clouds I used the 24-70mm lens and single speedlite flashgun to brighten the shadow areas on the red F Type with its more powerful 5 litre brother in the background. Once the shoot had finished I made my way back along the High Street where the cars were making their exit on to the road, with the 70-200mm lens I grabbed a few shots of the cars in convoy, forgot to also mention the car has an active exhaust system on the S and V8S versions which open special valves over 3,000 rpm to intensify the sound profile.

The official launch of the F a type is next Thursday 25th April and will be on show at Barretts of Canterbury Jaguar, please call 01227 864444 for further details.
