LOOKING BACK AT 2012'S PHOTOGRAPHIC YEAR

04/01/2013
Highlights for me were covering the 2012 Geneva motor show, looking forward to returning here agin in March, an amazing show of the newest and most exotic cars in the world. Also covering HRH Princess Anne's visit to Cory in Kent was a real privilege and being announced by the security guards as the Royal photographer was amusing. Other highlights were the Spitfire shoot for Shepherd Neame and the Movember charity, one speed light and a reflector produced some great images and showed that you don't need to cart around numerous lighting set ups to get the end result.

I also changed one of my 1D's for the stunning 5D MK3, simply amazing high ISO capability and a great successor to the 5D MK2, for once Canon listened to their customers and come up with a great all round camera. I managed to cover a few gigs as well, highlight being Kids in Glass Houses, the bass player shot in black and white is one of my favourite live shots. Oh and their was also the automotive work at Brooklands, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls in London for HR Owen group.

Looking ahead for the pro photographer this year will be more of a challenge with budgets being cut and the opportunities few and far between in some sectors of the market, social media is certainly the way forward with Twitter being a great resource for meeting new clients and prospects.

Best wishes for 2013 and keep an eye on the site for further courses throughout the year.
