LONDON INSTITUTE OF BANKING STUDENT FINALS 2017

08/05/2017
Over 40,000 students competed nationally to attend the finals and with only eight teams making the final with their knowledge and ideas for the financial sector it really is an achievement to compete for the London Institute of Banking and Finance student investors title and a trip to New York for the winners.

The photography brief is to document the day, covering all of the teams in the tasks that are set as well as their presentations in the afternoon. After covering the higher education conference yesterday and with the same sunny weather I know where light is going to be, the 70-200mm lens is the perfect lens for capturing the intensity of the day plus being discreet due to its long focal range, the 14-24mm was attached to the Nikon D810 for some wider scene shots of the rooms being used by the students and judges.

The overall winner was the Judd School from Tonbridge in Kent, wowing the judges with their knowledge of the stock exchange in the morning, followed by a slick presentation in the afternoon. The winners had a selection of group photos taken, using the Monument and the cobbled streets of London as a background made for some great PR photos for the IFS University and school, to send to the press nationally.
