SLOPING HOUSE MARGATE BUILDING PHOTOGRAPHY

06/12/2013
The title of Alex Chennick's sloping house is called "From the knees of my nose to the belly of my toes". The empty house had been transformed by the artist to make it look as if it was sliding in to the ground, if you didn't know it was a work of art then you would be convinced it was being swallowed up by the ground. The house will remain in place for one year until it will then be returned to housing.

I had seen quite a few images of the house on the web and wanted to do something a little quirky that would accentuate the curvature of the house even more, the 15mm fisheye lens seemed to be the lens for the job. I took a lot of photos dead centre so the distortion was just on the edge of the frame and the 15mm was doing its job of showing off the large slope, F11 would give sharpness throughout as the nature of the fisheye even more wide open is to give pin sharp images. I liked the side on shot shown in black and white the most as it shows the building in its surroundings of Godwin Road.
