CORPORATE SOCIAL MEDIA PORTRAITS CANTERBURY KENT

28/04/2013
I can't remember the last time I used a studio and with the innovation centre being full of large windows bringing in plenty of natural light it is like working in a large studio where you have complete control over the light entering on to the subject. Harald contacted me a week ago about having a series of portraits for a German website which is in the same format as business social media site Linked In. He had some examples of portraits that he had seen, these gave me a guide what he was after, black and white, neutral backdrop and the slightest hint of a smile.

We covered a few with a white backdrop with Harald facing the large window, some close ups followed with the final images outside using the modern building as a backdrop, the selection of photos give the client a mix to use now for website, social media sites and editorials. Lens used was the 135mm F2 L series lens, a superb portrait lens. I use the impressive NIK software to convert the colour RAW files in to mono, it gives a great range of options along with the ability to mimic various black and white film types for a mix of results depending on the tone of the original image.
