IFS STUDENT INVESTORS FINAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN LONDON

25/04/2013
Over 40,000 students competed nationally to attend the finals and with only eight teams making the final with their knowledge and ideas for the financial sector it really is an achievement to compete for the IFS student investors title and a trip to New York for the winners.

The photography brief is to document the day, covering all of the teams in the tasks that are set as well as their presentations in the afternoon. After covering the higher education conference yesterday and with the same sunny weather I know where light is going to be, really enjoyed using the 70-200mm lens yesterday, seems to have been given a new lease of life in recent weeks as my 135mm is my usual lens for conference work, although with the recent weather and low lighting the wider depth of field has helped a lot in brightening up the images.

The overall winner was the Royal Grammar School from Guildford in Surrey, wowing the judges with their written exam results in the morning, followed by a slick presentation in the afternoon. The winners had a selection of group photos taken, the view on the rooftop is amazing and with the Shard and Tower bridge in the background made for some great PR photos for the IFS and school, to send to the press nationally.
