BROOKLANDS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE SUNDAY 14th APRIL

15/04/2013
The cars on show today for the attendees to photograph were an AC Zagato, Ferrari 308 and 430 Scuderia, Daimler mark 2, Triumph TR6, Rolls Royce, Alfa Spider and one of my favourite cars of all time a 1960's Ford Mustang. The courses have been taking place for 2 1/2 years now and I always strive to get different cars on each occasion, the addition of the AC Zagato was a real attraction, not just to the photographers but also the visitors to Brooklands Museum. The car was very kindly lent to me by Steve Gray of Brooklands Heritage whose showroom and workshop is based at the top of test hill at Brooklands.

The course takes place over the duration of the day and the airfield, garages and the historic Brooklands banking and bridge are sued as a backdrop for everybody to get some stunning photographs of this eclectic mix of American, British and Italian sports cars and luxury saloons. The day was perfect to showcase the cars, with some early morning cloud cover diffusing the bright sunshine, I had almost forgotten what it was like to be out in the warmth, and when the sun broke through some challenged for everybody to compete with the brightness of the white cars on show. As well as composition the courses covers all of the manual controls of the camera, exposure compensation, ISO's, panning techniques and using the stunning backdrops to their best potential.

The next car photography course date takes place at Brooklands on Sunday 12th May and already the line upon cars is looking impressive, these will include a Jaguar E Type, Porsche 356 and another Mustang or two. The course is priced at £180 and includes lunch on the day. gift vouchers are also available, please contact me for further details.
