DRAMA STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY HEAD SHOTS

Siobhan also has worked with me and other photographers on modeling shoots and courses but with these drama portraits the look has to be very neutral and almost expressionless, so the pose has to be head on and a few side on left and right. The portraits were lit with natural window light with the aid of a reflector balancing the shadows on the left of Siobhan.AS all of the headshots have to be in black and white the processing of them has to meet the criteria of RADA, these are very pure skin tones and a very contrast black tonal range, all images were shot in RAW and with the exposures being a 1/3 over this provided a good base for the mono conversion. The headshots were then batch processed in Bridge with the monochrome tool, you can then utilise the colour range with the sliders to get great accuracy on the toning. Once their in CS it was just a case of lifting the shadows with a slight adjustment and then using the linear curve tool to give it that contrast edge.
