BASEPOINT PHOTOGRAPHY IN HAMPSHIRE

Photography for Basepoint in Hampshire
As I had covered some dusk photos last night of the Bournemouth exterior I had an idea of where I needed to be for the day time exterior building photos, there is a nice mix of steel and wooden facia panels creating a nice range of abstract images for the centres portfolio. When shooting a light background against a darker sky I always meter for the lightest area, this keeps the balance of the image well exposed and if needed a slight over exposure to lift the sky a little. As it was a bright day I could use a ice range of apertures to bring in a good range of detail of the buildings and surrounding areas. After Bournemouths photography it was then over to another large centre in Southampton, this was a busy sight and with some strong sunlight provided a few challenges, I decided to take some interior images and after 45 minutes the sun had moved around just enough so it was not reflecting on some of the brightly lit facias.

After a quick lunch break it was a short drive to Winchester which is one of the smaller centres, with the large reception and rest areas with a mix of colured furniture it provided a vibrant set of photos, weather had started to cloud over slightly and with the sky looking very flat it was a case of cropping in tight for the exterior photos. Romsey was the last shoot on the list today and with it being the first Basepoint Centre set up thirteen years ago it had a more traditional feel to the buildings, just after 3pm and the blue skies had appeared again. I also took some photos of some tenants, their are such a wide selection of businesses at all of the Basepoint centres that by the end of the assignment their will be a good mix of images for the website and maybe other PR use. A two hour drive next for my next destination for tomorrow, the Midlands. Bromsgrove is the first sight tomorrow so I replicated yesterday evenings photos by taking some evening images of the centre, good to have a recce of the building as well in preparation for the morning.
