BASEPOINT CENTRE PHOTOGRAPHY IN EXETER AND WEYMOUTH

Article text
Photography for Basepoint in Devon and Hampshire
With all of the centres they are always busy and with the car parks always full it requires some creative photography. My brief after covering the Canterbury Innovation Centre was more of the same and to focus on the meeting areas and architecture of the various buildings, some have a similar style and some are in smaller loacations. The weather today wasn’t ideal but at least it was dry with some blue sky appearing in intervals. I used the 17-40mm along with the 24-70mm to give a mix of wide and close up images as well as some abstract images which can be used on any of the centre sites. For the interior photos I used my trust Manfroto tripod, this gave me the option to use lower ISO settings and longer shutter speeds to use all of the ambient light available.

Once I had covered Exeter and Weymouth I then set off late afternoon to Bournemouth where I will be staying overnight to cover tomorrows four centres, as it was dusk I went over to the Bournemouth Basepoint centre to cover some evening images, the centre lends itself to these as it is one of the largest centres in the Basepoint portfolio. The same principle for the interior photos applies for exterior night time images, a little over exposure just lifts the dusk sky to a rich blue. All finished for the day and up early to start the four Hampshire centres tomorrow.
